According to the Sun, Rex Orange County has been charged with six counts of sexual assault in the United Kingdom.
The British musician, whose real name is Alexander O'Connor and who is best known for his song "Loving Is Easy," pleaded not guilty in London's Southwark Crown Court. According to the Sun, O'Connor is accused of assaulting the woman twice on June 1 in London's West End. The next day, he allegedly assaulted her in a taxi and three more times at his Notting Hill home. His trial is scheduled for January 3.
"Alex is shocked by the allegations, which he denies, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court," the statement reads "O'Connor's publicist told BuzzFeed News in a statement. "He is unable to comment further due to the ongoing proceedings."
O'Connor announced on social media in July that he had to cancel the remainder of his tour due to "personal circumstances," though it's unclear what those were.
"It is with great sadness that I must announce that, due to unforeseen circumstances, I will be spending some time at home this year and will be unable to continue touring as planned," he wrote on social media.
