Cole Anthony, the point guard for the Orlando Magic, was expected to start the team's season-opening game against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. However, an illness has forced Anthony to withdraw at the last minute. Anthony has not yet been formally put under health and safety procedures, so he could simply be feeling under the weather.

As the Magic's new point guard, Jalen Suggs will play a significant amount of minutes due to the lack of depth at the position. Markelle Fultz and Anthony are both out tonight due to toe injuries. The Magic's backup point guard in this situation would be RJ Hampton.

Paolo Banchero, the No. 1 choice in 2022, is also starting for Orlando and may be required to handle the ball tonight. Banchero may serve as the primary playmaker even if Suggs starts at point guard because the Magic likely view him as the offensive focal point.
